Adding emojis to your messages is a quick way to add warmth and personality to your replies. Both macOS and Windows have a built-in emoji picker you can open directly from your keyboard, no matter which app you're in, including the message field in Herodesk.
macOS
- Click inside the message field to place your cursor where you want the emoji.
- Press Control + Command + Space (⌃ ⌘ Space).
- A small emoji picker will appear. Type to search for an emoji by name, or browse by category.
- Click the emoji to insert it at the cursor.
Tip: On newer MacBooks with a Globe (🌐) key, pressing that key alone opens the same picker. If it doesn't, go to System Settings → Keyboard and make sure "Press 🌐 key to" is set to Show Emoji & Symbols.
Windows
- Click inside the message field to place your cursor where you want the emoji.
- Press Windows key + . (period) or Windows key + ; (semicolon).
- The emoji panel will appear. Type to search, or browse the Emojis, GIFs, Stickers and Symbols tabs.
- Click the emoji to insert it at the cursor.
Both shortcuts work directly in the Herodesk message editor, so you can add emojis to your replies without leaving your keyboard or copying them from elsewhere.
